3 Future Starters the Chiefs Could Draft on Day 3
DE Justin Eboigbe, Alabama
The Chiefs had one of the NFL's best defenses in 2023 and that success can only continue if they keep bringing in reinforcements. One promising defensive prospect who could help with that is Alabama's Justin Eboigbe.
Eboigbe's early college career was underwhelming, to say the least. The Forest Park, GA native was used in more of a reserve role during his first few seasons with the Crimson Tide and his future playing career was even put in jeopardy when he suffered a severe neck injury just four games into the 2022 campaign.
Fortunately, Eboigbe's never-say-die attitude allowed him to bounce back better than ever this past fall. Suiting up in a career-high 14 games, the 23-year-old pass-rusher racked up 7.0 sacks, 29 solo tackles, 11.5 tackles for lost yardage, and a broken-up pass. He was also named first-team All-SEC for the first time in his career.
Like most Day 3 prospects, Eboigbe isn't flawless. He isn't the fastest defender and sometimes struggles to shed blockers, but his future looks bright if the Chiefs work on improving his inside attack. It wouldn't be shocking if he takes a few years to develop before having a Michael Danna-esque breakout season in a few years.
