2. JuJu Smith-Schuster

A reunion with JuJu Smith-Schuster feels unlikely at best, though similar to Mecole Hardman last year, he could be a player already familiar with the offense who could help for the first few weeks of the season.

His knees and general effectiveness provide big question marks, but Smith-Schuster is just one season removed from being the Chiefs' leading receiver on a Super Bowl team. If Kansas City thinks there's anything left in the tank, Smith-Schuster wouldn't require much time to familiarize himself with the scheme.

During that 2022 season, he caught 78 passes for 933 yards and three TDs, adding seven catches for 53 yards in the Super Bowl win over the Eagles.

JuJu's physical style of play pairs well with Kansas City's receivers. In many ways, Rashee Rice was selected to fill that same prototype, and that physicality could open up space for Xavier Worthy to get loose deep.

It's a bad sign that not even the lowly New England Patriots wanted to keep Smith-Schuster, though Hardman didn't have much of a market last year either and wound up catching the Super Bowl-winning TD.

If there's any team that can turn one team's trash into treasure, it's these Chiefs.
