2. Nic Jones, CB

One of the biggest stories from Day 1 of the NFL Draft was how several notable cornerbacks slipped down the board. First-round talents like Iowa's Cooper DeJean, Alabama's Kool-Aid McKinstry, and Missouri's Ennis Rakestraw Jr. are still all available on Day 2 and one of them could wind up in Kansas City if the Chiefs go for the 'best player available' approach.

If that's the case and the Chiefs can land a talented CB (either by moving up or staying up), it could spell bad news for Nic Jones.

Jones, 22, was drafted by the Chiefs in the seventh round (250th overall) at the 2023 draft. The former Ball State Cardinal didn't see much playing time as a rookie, only lining up for 67 defensive snaps and 111 special teams opportunities. He also failed to capitalize on the chances he did receive, allowing two receptions for 17 yards on the only two targets he saw.

At the end of the day, Jones is the sort of player who'll likely be on the bubble come training camp. If a talented cornerback is available once the Chiefs are on the clock on Day 2, I doubt they'll hesitate to replace the Detroit, MI native.
