Well, that didn't go as planned.

The Chiefs suffered their third loss of the season in last night's 21-17 failure against the Philadelphia Eagles. Kansas City's defense was stout once again, holding Jalen Hurts to just 150 passing yards and AJ Brown to one catch, but the offense couldn't put enough points on the board.

With 21 or fewer points in five games, the Chiefs have work to do offensively.

Let's look at three players on thin ice after the unfortunate loss.

3 Chiefs on Thin Ice After Gutting Loss to Eagles

1. Marquez Valdes-Scantling - WR

Valdes-Scantling was No. 1 on this list entering the game and his performance did little to assuage Chiefs Kingdom.

He finished with zero catches on three targets, including one brutal drop on a walk-in TD that effectively ended the game.

It's been a nightmare season for the $11+ million man making the sixth-most money on the team this year. Valdes-Scantling was a hero in the AFC Championship game, but it's getting harder to justify his snaps.

The deep threat has 14 catches on 27 targets for just 249 yards, with 84 of those coming in one game.

With Justin Watson earning Patrick Mahomes' trust as a reliable downfield receiver and Rashee Rice's budding stardom, I'd be surprised at this point if Valdes-Scantling is on the roster next season.

He's not the only player that had a night to forget, though.
