With just three games left in the regular season before the Chiefs look to defend their Super Bowl title, the team's roster plans moving forward are becoming more clear.

We've seen the same players routinely struggle and it's obvious what Chiefs likely won't be on the team next year.

Let's look at three Chiefs who are unlikely to be part of the organization in 2024.

3 Chiefs Players Who Won't Return in 2024

1. Marquez Valdes-Scantling - WR

The writing has been on the wall all season. We're entering the final days for last year's AFC Championship game hero in Kansas City, as he's been effectively phased out of the offense following a series of big mistakes.

Valdes-Scantling saw just 34% of the snaps against the Patriots after seeing only 33% against the Bills and he had only three catches in the two contests. Given he's caught only 20 of 38 targets, it seems the deep threat no longer has Patrick Mahomes' trust.

At $11 million, Valdes-Scantling has the sixth-highest cap hit on the team this year. With his limited production, it makes little sense for a team that'll be strapped against the salary cap to keep Valdes-Scantling on the roster.

The Chiefs' wide receiver room needs a complete overhaul in 2024. Rashee Rice, Skyy Moore, Kadarius Toney and Justin Watson all feel likely to be all the roster, though only Rice gives you any real confidence.

Everyone should be expendable except for Rice, so Valdes-Scantling's outsized salary makes him the first logical cap casualty.
