3. George Karlaftis - DE
With respect to L'Jarius Sneed, Trent McDuffie, Drue Tranquill and others, the defensive player I want to highlight here is George Karlaftis.
The second-year pass-rusher compiled three tackles with a sack and a QB hit but helped put an exclamation mark on the win with his thunderous hit on Raiders' QB Aiden O'Connell late in the contest. He's been one of the league's best edge rushers this year, blossoming into a star before our very eyes.

Karlaftis already has eight sacks in just 11 games, besting his total of six in his rookie year with six games to play. He has 26 pressures on the year as well, routinely disrupting opposing offenses with an impressive blend of power and agility.
The Chiefs defense looks like one of the very best in the league and Karlaftis' development is a huge reason why.
