10 Chiefs Entering Their Final Season With Kansas City
7. Derrick Nnadi, DT
Derrick Nnadi is one of the longest-serving members of Kansas City's defensive line. The 28-year-old defensive tackle has started in 86 of his 98 regular-season appearances since being drafted 75th overall by the Chiefs in 2018.
Much like fellow D-line member Pennel, Nnadi will also become a free agent after the 2024 season. Even though many Chiefs fans wouldn't mind an encore season or two, any potential return likely hinges on the former Florida State defender's upcoming performance.
Nnadi was far from the most productive DT last season. The Virginia Beach native only recorded 16 solo tackles, one sack, and a broken-up pass across 17 games before making just one postseason appearance. By the time the dust had settled, Pro Football Focus gave Nnadi a 41.4 grade for overall defense, which was the ninth-worst mark among 130 eligible interior defenders.
Nnadi is a great teammate who does things that don't show up on the scoresheet, but it's also clear that his play is declining. If he isn't capable of contributing to the dynasty that the Chiefs are building, there's a decent chance the 2024 season could be his last with them.
