Perhaps the only thing that could derail the Kansas City Chiefs' bid for a three-peat is a significant injury. They'll host the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship on Sunday, seemingly sitting as the healthier team.

The Bills have their own list of concerning injuries to deal with, but a new report suggests Chiefs fans might have a touch of concern following Wednesday's practice.

Three-time Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes appeared on the injury report with an ankle injury. He was a full participant and there's no reason to think he won't suit up, though this is suddenly a situation to monitor throughout the rest of the week's practices.

Chiefs List Patrick Mahomes on Wednesday's Injury Report

Mahomes suffered a high-ankle sprain in Week 15. He suited up and defeated the Houston Texans in Week 16, never missing a game, yet fans were justifiably scared given how often we've seen him hurt the same ankle late in other seasons.

He hasn't turned the ball over since the November Week 11 loss to the Bills and looks healthy on the field. That said, concerns about the offensive line leave Mahomes susceptible to further aggravation if Buffalo's defense front can get home as it did against the Baltimore Ravens.

In all likelihood, this is nothing to worry about. Mahomes was a full participant and there have been no public comments from head coach Andy Reid or anyone within the organization that Mahomes is ailing. This is still AFC Championship week though, and Mahomes' health is obviously of the utmost importance.

Since it's Wednesday, we still have multiple injury reports to consume before we know if Mahomes' ankle is actually bothering him. If it is, the performance of Joe Thuney, Mike Caliendo, Creed Humphrey, Trey Smith, and Jawaan Taylor suddenly becomes even more significant than it already was.

Hopefully, this was merely a rest day and nothing more. For now, the Chiefs sit as 1.5-point favorites over the Bills with +210 odds to win the Super Bowl at FanDuel Sportsbook.
