The entire NFL world is watching the Kansas City Chiefs as Tuesday's NFL Trade Deadline draws closer and closer.

Kansas City has already made two major deals, acquiring wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins and EDGE Josh Uche, but that hasn't stopped many from speculating who could be next as the Chiefs look to pull off a rare three-peat.

And it turns out, those around the league think they have a sense who could be Brett Veach's next target.

In a story published by ESPN's Adam Schefter on Saturday, he links the Chiefs to New Orleans Saints star cornerback Marshon Lattimore, who is generating trade interest ahead of the deadline. Schefter notes that "some sources" have speculated a move could still be coming for Kansas City, with "Lattimore or another player" as possible targets.

It's no surprise to see KC linked to a ballhawking corner on the heels of the injury to Jaylen Watson. With New Orleans' season quickly going south at 2-6 as well, the Saints are the ideal struggling trade partner for the Chiefs, who could offer an extra pick in an upcoming draft to a team that has to consider blowing things up.

The one major hang-up with Lattimore isn't his contract, but his recent record of health. The four-time Pro Bowler only played a combined 17 games over the previous two seasons, and he's now slated to miss his second contest of 2024 with another hamstring issue in Week 9.

Lattimore's questionable availability is a major hurdle in trade talks, but it could also help Veach acquire a true star for less than usual. With several options at CB as well once Watson is back, the Chiefs have depth in case the veteran's health proves to be troublesome down the stretch.

A deal would be a risk, but the upside when thinking about the playoffs is undeniable.
