After six weeks, the New York Jets are the only winless team in the National Football League. As such, it only makes sense that some of their veterans get tangled up in trade rumors. And, with the Kansas City Chiefs reportedly looking to bolster the running game, they've been linked with Breece Hall for the past couple of weeks.

The Jets were reportedly willing to give him up at a very reasonable price. But, judging by Aaron Glenn's latest statements, they may have changed that stance. If anything, Glenn might be trying to drive Hall's price up.

Aaron Glenn Wants to Keep Breece Hall in New York City

When asked about all the trade rumors surrounding his star running back, Glenn told reporters that “They’re rumors. I still feel the same way," per SNY.

He echoed similar comments months ago. Talking about the Jets' three-man running back committee, Glenn dismissed the notion of trading Hall, adding that he would have a role for him, Braelon Allen, and Isaiah Davis:

"I think, mentally, [Hall] is in a good place, but I would say that we have three running backs on this team that we're going to utilize as much as possible," Glenn said before the start of the season, per ESPN's Rich Cimini. "They're all big men, they can run, they're violent, they're physical. So I think once we get a chance to get the players in and see exactly how they operate, I think every player is going to be happy with the way that we go about this offense, and I think he's going to be one of them."

Of course, it makes sense that Glenn wants to keep Hall, especially now that Allen has been placed on Injured Reserve. Then again, he's not the general manager, which means he won't have the final say on this matter. So, while he could just be being honest about his feelings for Hall, this may be another tactic altogether aimed at making teams interested in a potential trade give up more as part of a deal.

Hall is about to become a free agent and demand a lofty new contract. The Jets don't seem to be willing to lock him in for the future. As such, they will have no choice but to get as much as they can in return for him, especially considering that their chances of making the playoffs are pretty slim right now.

And with Patrick Mahomes being the Chiefs' leading rusher through six weeks, it's become painfully evident that Kansas City needs to act fast and get Hall before any other team joins the race.
