Harrison Butker Makes Big Injury Announcement on Social Media
By Joe Summers
Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker made his first public comments since his surprising injury on Thursday, noting on social media that he underwent successful surgery.
Butker was placed on the injured reserve list and will miss at least four games. He's the NFL's best kicker and an undeniable weapon for the two-time defending Super Bowl champions. Losing Butker is a significant problem that can't be overstated, though it's a blessing that his surgery seemingly went well.
As long as Butker is back for the playoffs, Chiefs fans can exhale. If he misses extended time, Kansas City could have an issue.

Butker declared that the surgery "went great" and thanked fans for prayers. Chiefs Kingdom knows how valuable of a weapon he's been over the years, and he'll no doubt be inducted into the team's Ring of Honor once he hangs his cleats up.
Former Jet Spencer Shrader will replace Butker while he's out. He made his only two field goals at the professional level though struggled in college. That said, Butker's collegiate statistics weren't impressive either and he'll go down as one of the best kickers in NFL history.
On the season, Butker has made 18 of his 20 field goals and 21 of his 22 extra points. He's made 89.2% of his field goals in his career, one of the best marks ever. The playoff record book is littered with Butker's name, so all fans hope he gets back on the field as soon as possible.
For now, it's a tremendous development that surgery was a success. Here's hoping there aren't any lingering effects as the Chiefs try to win a historic third straight Super Bowl.
