The Kansas City Chiefs are 6-0 to start the season and they are firing on all cylinders. Despite the underwhelming offense and lackluster individual production from Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs continue to look like the heavy favorites to win the Super Bowl this season.

Despite the hot start, however, the trade speculations dominate the airwaves. The Chiefs' obvious need for more depth and quality in the wide receiver room naturally brings about the question of who they need to target.

When asked about it, head coach Andy Reid had hinted at players who have been with the team before and know the system. This started rumors about Kansas City signing Marquez Valdes-Scantling who was recently released by the Buffalo Bills.

It turns out, however, that MVS is signing with the New Orleans Saints, per NFL insider Tom Pelissero.

NFL News: Saints Sign Marquez Valdes-Scantling

After signing a three-year, $30 million deal with the Chiefs in the 2022 offseason, MVS failed to live up to the expectations. He put up 63 catches for 1,002 yards and three touchdowns in 33 games. Yet, he still managed to win two Super Bowls while being a major contributor in the postseason.

Most notably, Valdes-Scantling caught a game-sealing 32-yard pass in the AFC Championship game against the Ravens last season before scoring again in the Super Bowl against San Francisco.

It was reported earlier that the 30-year-old receiver visited New Orleans on Monday for a workout. It's unclear whether the Chiefs were seriously interested in MVS but the playoff hero will now try to carve out a role for himself for the 2-5 Saints.
