Former Chiefs Coach Suddenly Available for Reunion Before Playoffs
The Kansas City Chiefs are 11-1 and are chasing their third straight Super Bowl title. They have found ways to rack up countless victories despite having a bunch of different moving parts.
The Chiefs are led by the dynamic duo of Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid. With these two at the helm, Kansas City just finds ways to win.
With five weeks left in the regular season, Kansas City is looking to make another deep postseason run. While that is the focus within the building, a former coach just hit the open market.
Chiefs News: Eric Bieniemy Out of a Job on Thursday
According to Jordan Schultz, UCLA and Eric Bieniemy have parted ways on Thursday. Bieniemy joined UCLA's staff this year as the offensive coordinator and assistant head coach. The Bruins finished with a 5-7 record, averaging just 18.4 points per game and 5.4 yards per play.
Bieniemy was with the Chiefs from 2013-2022, where he served as a running back coach and offensive coordinator.
When the 55-year-old was the coordinator in Kansas City, the Chiefs scored the most points in the NFL (30.1) and had the highest total yards per game (406.2).
Although the Chiefs have Matt Nagy as the current offensive coordinator, there could be a pathway for Bieniemy to return in a different role for the playoffs. There is a sense of comfort for both sides and he could give the Chiefs another productive voice on the offensive side.
Who knows if either side is even open to it but on paper, it makes a ton of sense. He's won two Super Bowls already with Kansas City. Why not try and chase a third?
