Chiefs WR Received Incredible SB Send-Off From Neighbors
Following the bye because of the annual Pro Bowl games, Super Bowl week has finally arrived. Both the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles landed in New Orleans on Sunday. That said, one Chief received a special send-off from his neighborhood before leaving Kansas City.
As seen in a video on X (formerly known as Twitter), wide receiver Marquise "Hollywood" Brown was escorted out of his neighborhood by a police car and a host of Chiefs fans cheering.
Hollywood Brown Receives Great Super Bowl Send-Off from His Neighbors
Chiefs fans showing this type of support for their team is nothing new. Heck, before the AFC Championship Game, Patrick Mahomes asked the fans to crank up their volume in the stadium notch to make it more difficult for the Buffalo Bills. While any quarterback can request that from their fans, Chiefs fans took that request to heart and had GEHA field rocking all night.
Still, Brown's send-off might still shock some, given how little he played for the Chiefs this season. Brown suffered an SC joint injury during Kansas City's first preseason game, causing him to miss a majority of the regular season.
As a result, the Chiefs offense struggled to establish the downfield passing attack they had hoped for most of the 2024 season. Fortunately, Brown returned from injury in Week 16, which gave Kansas City two weeks of reps with him before the playoffs.
Nevertheless, it didn't take the Chiefs' passing offense long at all to look better with Brown on the field. This is because the threat of Brown's speed opened up more area underneath for yards.
So far this postseason, Brown has yet to have a massive impact. His best game was the AFC Championship, recording three catches on five targets for 35 yards.
It would be in Kansas City's best interest to find ways to get Brown the football on Sunday. His explosiveness could be the key to neutralizing the Eagles' vaunted defense.
