Chiefs Wildly Disrespected in Shocking Super Bowl Odds After Bills Loss
By Joe Summers
The Chiefs suffered a bitter loss to the Bills on Sunday and the entire NFL world is ludicrously overreacting in classic fashion.
For the first time since Week 1, Kansas City is no longer favored to win the Super Bowl. Instead, the 9-1 Detroit Lions are now favored to win the Lombardi Trophy for the first time in franchise history. The Lions are a great team and worthy of being NFC favorites but make no mistake, the Chiefs still reign supreme.
There are warning signs and owner Clark Hunt apparently wasn't happy, though this is still Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Chris Jones, and Andy Reid we're talking about here. Let's not be ridiculous.
Chiefs Disrespected in Super Bowl Odds Yet Again
FanDuel Sportsbook has the Lions listed at +420 and the Chiefs at +500. The Ravens come in third at +650 with the Bills trailing closely behind at +700.
It's understandable that Detroit would have the best odds since the top of the AFC is stronger than that of the NFC. Either way, it's disrespectful. Take a moment to think to yourself, do you truly believe that the Detroit Lions have a better chance than the Kansas City Chiefs?
No, you don't. Jared Goff is having a sublime season, though we all just watched him throw five interceptions one week ago. Now he's supposed to be the leader of a Super Bowl team?
I'll trust the three-time Super Bowl MVP personally. Mahomes hasn't had a typical year by his standards, yet he still had the country genuinely believing he could lead the Chiefs to an undefeated season. One loss doesn't change any of that, and the Lions haven't even made a Super Bowl, let alone four in the last handful of years.
Smart bettors will enjoy the dip on Kansas City, knowing that it'll all work itself out in the end.
