Chiefs Owner Reportedly Furious After Big Loss to Bills in Week 11
The Kansas City Chiefs suffered their first loss of the season on Sunday, failing to the Buffalo Bills 30-21. Although the Chiefs only lost by nine points, it felt like they were battling uphill all day.
Kansas City found themselves with a lead only twice against the Bills. Both times the Chiefs gained the lead were in the second quarter. However, Buffalo made sure to answer each Chiefs score on their next drive taking the lead back from themselves. This meant the Chiefs only led for a total of 7:36 on Sunday.
Fans being upset about the Chiefs' loss is understandable, given the implications it has on the playoff picture. Yet, fans don't seem to be the only ones taking umbrage with the loss.
Chiefs Owner Clark Hunt Reportedly Furious
According to Chiefs radio host Darren Smith tweeted, "When I say Chiefs CEO and owner Clark Hunt is pissed, that in and of itself is an understatement." after the game ended. Unfortunately, Smith took the tweet down, but receiving that insight is a bit shocking.
Although the Chiefs had yet again fallen to the Bills, they are still one game up on Buffalo in the standings. Moreover, Kansas City has owned Buffalo in the playoffs, so Hunt being upset by a regular-season loss to the Bills is a bit confusing.
With that being said, Hunt's reaction to the loss could have had more to do with how the team looked than who they lost to. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure Hunt would love to beat the Bills during the regular season, but the reaction may have been the same, no matter who they lost to.
At the end of the day, Kansas City didn't play good enough on Sunday, which was most likely the reason for Hunt's outburst.
