The Kansas City Chiefs held the last of their voluntary organized team activities (OTAs) on Friday, effectively diverting their attention to the offseason's next phase: mandatory minicamp. This year's minicamp action will begin on Tuesday and last through Thursday, leaving time to tell who'll step up enough to force their way into head coach Andy Reid's plans.

Things are about to get more intense around the Chiefs, especially as they grow closer to finalizing their 53-man roster this summer. With that in mind, it wouldn't be farfetched to say that one Kansas City veteran likely just experienced his last OTAs as a Chief.

Chiefs WR Skyy Moore Just Attended Last OTAs in Kansas City

The 2025 campaign will be a crucial season for several Chiefs, including fourth-year wide receiver Skyy Moore. The former Western Michigan playmaker is about to enter the final year of his rookie contract, and there's a good chance he won't receive another deal from Kansas City if the status quo remains.

Since leaving college, Moore has struggled to make a consistent impact in the Chiefs' passing game. The 24-year-old pass-catcher only caught 43-of-71 targets (60.6%) for 494 receiving yards and a touchdown across 30 games (11 starts) in his first two seasons, as well as a 5-17-1 stat line in three playoff outings during that stretch. Not exactly much to write home about.

Things took a turn for the worse in 2024 as a core muscle injury limited Moore to 82 offensive snaps across six regular-season appearances. He failed to catch any of the three targets thrown his way during those outings before finishing with a career-worst 39.7 Pro Football Focus grade for overall offense.

Between his uninspiring performance and significant injury, it's hard to be excited about Moore's outlook heading into the 2025 season. Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy, and Hollywood Brown are significantly ahead of him on the depth chart, and that's without mentioning how rookie WR Jalen Royals and veteran pass-catcher JuJu Smith-Schuster are also threats for targets.

If he can't find a way to separate himself from the pack, whether it's during minicamp or training camp, Moore could be a preseason cut candidate. The Chiefs would save over $1.5 million by axing him before September, which could be a tempting path to follow if he doesn't show off some serious upside soon.

If Moore can't show Kansas City, well, more, Chiefs fans should expect to see him in a different city once the 2026 OTAs roll around.
