The Kansas City Chiefs may have come out on the losing side of the equation against the Chicago Bears once their final exhibition game of the preseason ended on Friday night, but that didn't stop the first-team offense from putting on a show for the fans in attendance at Arrowhead Stadium, though.

The final score wound up being 29-27 in favor of the Bears. However, Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs' first-team offense were unstoppable before being removed from the game as they scored on each of their first three drives to hold a 17-0 lead. Had this been a regular-season matchup and not an exhibition, Kansas City would have kept its foot on the pedal and likely run up the score on Chicago.

Following the game, Chiefs players met with the media, and first-round pick Josh Simmons was asked to share his thoughts on what it is like trying to protect a player like Mahomes, as he moves around so well in the pocket. As you can see from the video clip below, courtesy of Sports Radio 810, the newcomer to Kansas City is adjusting to life with Mahomes in the pocket behind him but is thoroughly enjoying the experience, thus far.

Chiefs OT Josh Simmons Reveals the Challenge of Playing with Mahomes

While it comes with challenges that other QBs do not present, Simmons sure seemed to be comfortable doing his job up front with Mahomes behind him, manipulating the pocket to pick apart the defense.

"He moves around a little bit in the pocket," Simmons replied with a chuckle. "So, you just got to get used to that. Try to feel the D-Linemen and where he's looking, stuff like that, kind of go on an angle about that. But, other than that, I mean, it's 15. So, hell yeah."

Given the type of performance Mahomes turned in after playing three drives on Friday night, "hell yeah" sums up how Chiefs fans are feeling about this starting group on offense as well. The former MVP was 8/13 for 143 yards and a touchdown pass in his time at the office. He would have had a second TD pass to his name as well had Kareem Hunt come down with the ball after Mahomes found him standing wide-open in the endzone.

These performances are nice to see; there is no doubt about that. However, the preseason isn't what matters to this franchise. Winning Super Bowls comes above all else. If he doesn't understand that already, Simmons will very soon, as the intensity level in Kansas City is only going to go up from here.
