Chiefs Plan For DeAndre Hopkins in Week 8 is Revealed
The Kansas City Chiefs are the only undefeated team remaining in the NFL. They sit at 6-0 and find different ways to win. That's the championship DNA they have built.
The Chiefs know they will get every team's best punch on game day. They needed some WR help after the season-ending losses to Rashee Rice and Marquise Brown. On Wednesday, Kansas City acquired Pro Bowl WR DeAndre Hopkins.
That move was raved among the fanbase as the Chiefs have another weapon at their disposal. Even though Hopkins was acquired five days before the Week 8 contest against the Las Vegas Raiders, Kansas City still has a plan for him in the matchup.
Chiefs News: Deandre Hopkins Will Be Involved on Sunday
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler revealed that the Chiefs have select plays for Hopkins incorporated in the game day, but he won't be the focal point of the passing attack.
"The expectation is receiver DeAndre Hopkins will make his Chiefs debut Sunday but could have a small menu of plays. That has been Kansas City's precedent on receiver trades. In 2022, Kadarius Toney logged nine snaps in his debut post-trade from the Giants. In 2023, Mecole Hardman played 11 snaps after his trade from the Jets. So the Raiders are preparing for him, but they are also preparing for Travis Kelce and Xavier Worthy as primary options this week."

Fowler also added that Hopkins had a large workload in practice and Patrick Mahomes will try to get him in space at least once.
The 32-year-old will get more comfortable as time goes on but he will be involved on Sunday. Having another weapon out there on offense is huge and will go a long way as the season progresses.
