The Kansas City Chiefs are 5-0 and are returning to the field after a much-needed bye week. They will be taking on the San Francisco 49ers in a clash between NFL heavyweights.

Although they are undefeated, the Chiefs have been slammed by multiple injuries to offensive playmakers. They lost Isiah Pacheco for an extended period of time after he fractured his fibula. Kansas City is also down Marquise Brown and Rashee Rice for the year.

They have watched as Davante Adams joined the New York Jets and Amari Cooper went to the Buffalo Bills. Many people are wondering when the Chiefs will make a move at WR. That is the move that people are expecting but they are named as a potential location for an All-Pro tailback. And if they acquired him, it would be a massive mistake.

CBS Sports Cody Benjamin released an article on why the New Orleans Saints should move on from running back Alvin Kamara after the team fell to 2-5. He named the Chiefs as a potential suitor.

"Everyone's talking about a potential wide receiver trade for the reigning Super Bowl champions, but what about a blockbuster reinforcement for the running backfield, with Isiah Pacheco hurt? Kareem Hunt has fared well in relief, but can he stay healthy down the stretch? Andy Reid would almost surely prefer a higher-upside alternative, and Kamara would give him another do-it-all weapon for Patrick Mahomes."

Although getting a weapon like Kamara sounds intriguing, it doesn't make sense for the Chiefs. The five-time Pro Bowler has a $18.5 million cap hit in 2024 and $29 million in 2025.

Kansas City currently has $4.1 million available and would have to do some cap shuffling to make Kamara's salary fit. In addition, Pacheco is expected to return this season. So why would they trade for an expensive RB instead of adding another WR?

This isn't something that will excite the Chiefs and most likely won't even happen.
