The Kansas City Chiefs are rolling into their bye week 5-0. The Chiefs and the Minnesota Vikings are the two teams left in the NFL that are undefeated.

The fact that Kansas City is 5-0 is remarkable, considering all the injuries they've had to deal with already. They have lost Isiah Pacheco, Marquise Brown, and Rashee Rice.

Brown and Rice are expected to miss the rest of the season, putting more pressure on Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid to figure things out.

The Chiefs will be linked to multiple pass-catchers on the trade block. And in one projected trade, Kansas City lands a star receiver from one of their biggest rivals in the league.

In an article written by Jeff Diamond of the 33rd Team, he has the Chiefs trading for WR Tee Higgins from the Cincinnati Bengals.

He made some good points surrounding Higgins and the Bengals. They are 1-4 and could look to gain some draft capital in exchange for him. In addition to that, Higgins is on the franchise tag, worth $21.8 million. If the Bengals don't start winning, Higgins could be on the move.

"If they don’t get on a winning streak over the next couple of weeks, I can see the team deciding to trade Higgins at the trade deadline as long as they can get a higher pick than what a compensatory pick in 2025 would bring. "

Jeff Diamond

A compensatory pick would be a late third-rounder at best for the Bengals so they would likely be looking for a second-rounder in exchange for Higgins. Per OvertheCap, the Chiefs only have $4.1 million available in cap space so they would have to move things around to make Higgins' salary fit. But teams always find a way to move money around when needed.

GM Brett Veach would have to pull some gymnastics to make it work but getting a player like Higgins into the fold would be massive, especially since it would come from a rival.

The Chiefs would improve their roster while the Bengals would be calling it quits in 2024 by moving on from Higgins.

The Clemson product is a reliable playmaker due to his 6'4 frame and secure hands at the catch point. In his career, Higgins has 275 receptions for 3,866 receiving yards and 26 touchdowns.

He would immediately step into the WR1 role and help make up for the losses at wideout. The Chiefs and the Bengals have bad blood on the field but it doesn't mean they couldn't mutually benefit each other in a potential trade.
