The Kansas City Chiefs remain the only undefeated team in the NFL. The Chiefs are 8-0 and have an AFC West battle against the Denver Broncos on Sunday.

This past week, the Chiefs beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 30-24 in an overtime game. Shortly after the contest, Kansas City released a defender but quickly brought him back.

Chiefs News: Chiefs Brought Back Cole Christiansen on Wednesday

Per Matt Derrick, the Chiefs released linebacker Cole Christiansen but they re-signed him to the practice squad right away.

If he was released after Tuesday, Christiansen would have had to pass through waivers. He was a free agent due to the fact that he was released right before the trade deadline.

The 27-year-old first joined the Chiefs back in 2022 after he spent two seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers. He spent the majority of his time on the practice squad but made 12 regular-season appearances. Six of them happened in 2024.

Christiansen was elevated to the active roster ahead of Week 3 and played in 62% of the special teams snaps since then. This is a minor move for the Chiefs as they get ready to match up against the Denver Broncos.

Kansas City didn't have Juju Smith-Schuster and Tershawn Wharton participate in Wednesday's practice. They have a couple of more practices until game day and hopefully can get these guys back in the fold.

The Chiefs are eyeing their ninth straight win and opened up as 8.5-point favorites over the Denver Broncos per FanDuel Sportsbook.
