Chiefs Gifted Perfect WR Right Before Playoffs
The Kansas City Chiefs are 12-1 on the year and continue to find ways to win on game day. No matter what adversity comes their way, Kansas City stays poised and comes out on top.
This season has tested the Chiefs countless times, as they've dealt with multiple injuries to key contributors. They recently got running back Isiah Pacheco back from injury but haven't had that same luck at WR.
Rashee Rice is out for the year with a knee injury and Marquise Brown may be able to return in the postseason from a sternoclavicular shoulder joint injury but there are no guarantees.
Kansas City brought back Juju Smith-Schuster and traded for DeAndre Hopkins to bolster the WR core. That has already paid dividends but on Tuesday, they were gifted perfect depth option before the playoffs come around.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the New England Patriots are waiving WR K.J. Osborn. It was a mutual decision, as he's logged zero snaps in four of his last five games.
The Chiefs placed WR Mecole Hardman on IR late last week, which led to them signing Nikko Remigio to the active roster.
With how injuries have happened at WR for KC this campaign, bringing in Osborn may be a wise choice for the Chiefs. It depends if he clears waivers, but the Chiefs should look at bringing him in if they can.
Osborn is a nice option to have as your WR3/4 if need be. The 27-year-old has solid hands and would give the offense another playmaker who can open things up. In his career, the Miami product has compiled 165 receptions for 1,902 receiving yards, and 16 touchdowns. He's gone over 500 yards and scored at least three touchdowns from 2021-2023 with the Minnesota Vikings.
His production decreased this year but a lot of that had to do with the Pats offense.
The Chiefs are chasing history so getting another offensive weapon should be a discussion. GM Brett Veach isn't shy about making in-season moves and this may be another one if the opportunity presents itself.
