The Kansas City Chiefs have entered Week 2 of training camp, and the pads have been thrown on. Over the course of the summer, several players will go down with injuries, but that's the nature of the game.

It was reported by Matt Derrick of Chiefs Digest that Kansas City was without Marquise Brown, Skyy Moore, and Xavier Worthy for Wednesday's practice.

While Brown is dealing with an ankle injury and Moore's is a hamstring, it was officially revealed what injury Worthy is facing, and it wasn't the best outcome. Per Pete Sweeney, Kansas City is saying that Worthy is in concussion protocol.

Xavier Worthy in Concussion Protocol for Chiefs

Worthy left Tuesday's practice after banging his head on the ground, and that has put him in the protocol. Having a concussion is never ideal, as everyone's recovery from it varies. Some guys are able to bounce back in a week, while others take weeks and even months.

Everyone in KCKingdom is wishing Worthy a speedy recovery and hopes he's able to bounce back. Prior to going down with the concussion, Worthy had been making plays in practice and looks poised to take a jump in his sophomore season.

Last season, he posted 58 catches for 638 receiving yards and five touchdowns. With Rashee Rice and Brown in the fold for this group, it'll only create more favorable matchups for Worthy all over the field in 2025.

In practice, Worthy has hauled in some deep passes from Patrick Mahomes while looking very crafty as a route runner during some red zone drills.

Worthy has all the tools that will excite the fanbase and coaching staff, but now he has to focus on getting healthy. There are three preseason games on the docket, and there's a good chance that starters won't play much in those.

They open up the regular season against their division rival Los Angeles Chargers, on September 5th. That's when the game will start to matter, but the Chiefs hope that Worthy can return soon so he can continue to get these meaningful reps in camp, so he can hit the ground running.

Being an NFL player is very tough, as you're going to be dealing with several injuries throughout the season. The Texas product is already dealing with one to end the month of July, but he'll have the time to rest up without the pressure of a game coming in a few days, and that should benefit him mentally, not feeling the rush of having to suit up.
