The Kansas City Chiefs are coming out of their bye week and preparing for a primetime showdown against the 49ers on Sunday. The team used the extra week to rest and recover as they hope to continue their winning streak during the toughest part of their regular season schedule coming up.

One Chiefs player who used the bye week to make a big life decision was talented wide receiver Nikko Remigio. The 24-year-old just announced his engagement to his fiancee Maureen Schrijvers.

Chiefs WR Nikko Remigio Announces Engagement

Remigio posted the engagement photos to Instagram with the caption, "We did the thing". Schrijvers is a star track athlete who has been competing for the Philippines national team, most recently in the 4x400m relay.

Chiefs players were quick to congratulate the couple in the comments.

Despite the fact that Remigio hasn't made his official NFL debut with the Chiefs, he remains a fan favorite. After he signed in Kansas City as an undrafted free agent out of Fresno State, he showed enough intrigue and promise to get the fans excited. Unfortunately, he spent his rookie year on the injured reserve list.

Before the 2024 season, Remigio was waived by the Chiefs and then re-signed to the practice squad. Even though fans regularly call for his elevation to the active roster to replace Skyy Moore, that hasn't happened so far. However, considering Moore's continued underwhelming performance and the significant injuries to the receiver corps in Kansas City, Remigio's time will surely come soon.
