The Kansas City Chiefs are in a strong position heading into this year's NFL draft after addressing their roster needs in free agency. As a result, the Chiefs can focus on adding depth or taking the best player available with each selection this year.
That said, there are two main areas the Chiefs need to focus on adding this draft: defensive tackle and wide receiver. At defensive tackle, Kansas City must find someone who can be productive next to Chris Jones. Meanwhile, the Chiefs need to add depth to their wide receiver room because outside of their top four, no one has proven anything.
This includes former second-round draft pick Skyy Moore. Moore is considered a bust by many fans, and his chances of making the roster in 2025 will become even slimmer if Kansas City drafts a wide receiver.
Skyy Moore's Days With the Chiefs May Be Numbered
The Chiefs selected Skyy Moore with the 54th pick in the 2022 NFL draft. Since joining the team, the 24-year-old has been unproductive. In three seasons, he has recorded 43 receptions on 74 targets for 494 yards and one touchdown.
Therefore, Morre's completion percentage was thrown to 58.1%. Although it feels like most of his incompletions when targeted are drops, Moore has only been credited four drops in three seasons. Even so, these drops came in critical moments, which is why they are memorable and feel like they happen more than they do.
Furthermore, the 24-year-old spent most of the 2024 season on injured reserve with a core muscle injury. Although he had plenty of chances to come back, the Chiefs chose to keep him inactive during the playoff run.
That choice signals that Moore's chances of making the roster in 2025 are dwindling. It becomes even more of an uphill battle for Moore if the Chiefs draft a wide receiver.
