The Kansas City Chiefs have taken a couple of days to register the loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX.
They weren't able to complete the 3-peat and have turned the page over to the offseason. The Chiefs have some work to do in order to improve the roster and compete for another Super Bowl title.
On Tuesday, the Chiefs handed out 11 future/reserve contracts but decided not to extend those deals to seven players on the practice squad. Kansas City wasted no time making some moves along the roster, and that didn't stop on Thursday.
According to Aaron Wilson, the Chiefs signed tight end Anthony Firkser on a future/reserve deal.

Chiefs News: Anthony Firkser Lands a Future/Reserve Contract
Firkser has been in the NFL for the past seven years. He signed with the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent in 2017. He's had stops with the Tennessee Titans, Atlanta Falcons, New England Patriots, and Detroit Lions.
Back in October, Firkser was released by the Jets and quickly signed with the Chiefs practice squad. He got elevated to the active roster three times between November and December. The 29-year-old logged 24 snaps with the Chiefs this past season.
Kansas City has Noah Gray and Jared Wiley on the books for the 2025 season, but there are some question marks regarding Travis Kelce's future.
Bringing Firkser back gives them another option in the tight end room while they figure things out over the next couple of months. In 78 career games, the Harvard product has notched 115 receptions (153 targets) for 1,207 receiving yards and five touchdowns.
He isn't the type of player who will be a reliable outlet in the passing attack, but bringing him back provides this team with another depth piece.
