Chiefs Announce Anthem Singer for Sunday Night Football vs. Chargers
By Joe Summers
The Chiefs are getting set for an excellent AFC West showdown with the Chargers on Sunday Night Football and just announced exciting pre-game festivities at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.
Kansas City legend Tamba Hali will be inducted into the team's Ring of Honor with nearly 100 former players joining to honor him. He'll serve as the drum honoree while retired United States Navy Petty Officer First Class, Generald Wilson, will perform the national anthem.
Wilson is a St. Louis native known for his impressive singing ability.
Chiefs Announce National Anthem Singer on SNF vs. Chargers
It'll be a fantastic sight for Chiefs fans to cheer Hali on once again. He spent his entire 12-year career with the organization, notching 596 tackles, 89.5 sacks, 33 forced fumbles, 16 deflected passes, and eight fumble recoveries over 177 games.
This is a well-deserved honor for one of the best players in franchise history. Kansas City is a 3.5-point favorite over Los Angeles and need to win to stay ahead of Buffalo in the race for the No. 1 seed in the AFC.
Things won't be easy, as Jim Harbaugh has the Chargers looking like contenders in his first year with the team. The Chiefs won 17-10 earlier this season in Los Angeles and are rightful favorites but should be prepared for a dogfight nonetheless.
Luckily, the crowd will be amped after honoring Hali and hearing a great rendition of the anthem from Wilson. Hopefully, the pre-game fun will propel the crowd and Chiefs to a convincing win in Week 14.
