Coming into last Sunday's game, the Kansas City Chiefs had clear issues bringing opposing quarterbacks to the ground. Offering just a trio of sacks was a clear concern, despite an undefeated start. Especially for a defense that had not faced high-level offensive systems yet.
A Week 6 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers helped erase this as the unit came to life, handing Justin Herbert a miserable afternoon. It seemed that Herbert was always on the run and the Chiefs never let the star quarterback settle into a game that was dominated from start to finish.
Ashton Gillotte recorded his first sack of the season, while Chammari Connor would earn another, and Chris Jones and Peter Woods would combine for a third. One game, and the Chiefs more than doubled their sack total while remaining unbeaten. Also, it was another really good game from George Karlaftis who came alive with a sack of his own.

The Chiefs will have to find a way to parlay that performance into another impressive showing this week versus the 3-3 Seattle Seahawks. Kansas City's front will be tested, as the Seahawks 'trenches are where the team is strongest on both sides of the ball.
Kansas City finally ended their month-long sack drought in bounce-back form, but they need to be consistent if they are to beat the Seahawks on Sunday night
The Chiefs still rank near the bottom of the league when it comes to total team sacks. But the pressure has been there all season. And when facing a quarterback like Sam Darnold, who has gotten off to a rocky start to the season, sometimes pressure is what you need for him to make a poor decision.
Charles Cross and Abraham Lucas are one of the better offensive tackle duos in the league. And where KC has gotten most of its pressure this year has been from the edge, thanks to a strong start to the season by Karlaftis and rookie revelation R Mason Thomas.
This game will have to be won from the interior; Chris Jones needs to start looking like a superstar once again. At 32 years of age, he is no longer at the peak of his powers, but for what he's being compensated to do, Jones needs to take it up a notch.
As for the rest, Khyiris Tonga is a run-stuffing nose tackle and has done it really well in his new Chiefs uniform. He's not a guy who is going to crash the pocket. Who is, though, is rookie Peter Woods. He's flashed at moments this year, but has yet to have a real coming-out game. This would be a perfect game for Woods to announce himself to the NFL.
