The Kansas City Chiefs just had OTAs finish on June 13, with mandatory minicamp next on the docket.
That's set to run from June 17 to June 19, giving these players their final tune-up before training camp begins next month.
Over those three days, players will look to head into camp with some positive momentum, and rookie OT Josh Simmons made a positive impression on head coach Andy Reid.
During a press conference on Thursday, Reid said, "He's (Josh Simmons) doing a nice job. We weren't sure quite how much we were going to be able to get out of him, but he looks strong. He's been jumping in and taking the team reps now, which he was just doing the individual stuff before, and you can definitely see the talent. He's got to keep learning and learn the stuff that (Offensive Line Coach) Andy's (Heck) teaching him fundamentally and technique-wise, but he sure has a good attitude about it."

Josh Simmons Made Good Impression on Head Coach Andy Reid
This is a positive development for both parties involved. Simmons tore his patellar tendon last October, ending his season early and lowering his draft stock a bit. Nonetheless, the Ohio State product has all the tools needed to excel at the NFL level.
The Athletic's Dane Brugler wrote, "Simmons is a nimble, coordinated pass protector with tremendous athletic poise and the body control to be a long-term starting left tackle in the NFL," in his NFL draft scouting report, "The Beast".
Kansas City signed Jaylon Moore to a two-year, $30 million deal in free agency. While the expectation is that he'll be the starter, Simmons has the ability to push him in training camp. His injury is the only reason the Chiefs were able to snag Simmons.
Minicamp is where he can continue to build off his good practices and head into the summer with positive momentum. If he keeps impressing Reid, you never know who can start when the season begins in September.
