7 Most Disappointing Chiefs Despite 5-0 Start

Even though the Kansas City Chiefs are 5-0, the 2024 season has been far from perfect. These seven players have been the most disappointing Chiefs through five games.

7. Kingsley Suamataia, OT

The Chiefs retooled their offensive line during the offseason, which included the arrival of Kingsley Suamataia. The former BYU blocker was taken in the second round by the franchise at the 2024 NFL Draft and was named the starting left tackle before the season began.

It didn't take long for Suamataia to prove that he wasn't ready for the job, though. The 21-year-old rookie hasn't started a game since being replaced by fellow LT Wanya Morris and has averaged a pedestrian two offensive snaps across the last three games.

According to PFF, Suamataia has played to a 42.3 pass block grade after allowing six pressures on 68 passing downs. His 43.7 run block grade signifies that he doesn't help the ground game, either, and he also lacks discipline given his three penalties.

There's still plenty of time for Suamataia to turn his career around, but it's hard not to be disappointed by what we've seen thus far. The fact that HC Reid is even considering using him as a tight end shows that the Chiefs might not even know what to do with the rookie tackle just yet.

Hopefully, Suamataia figures things out sooner rather than later. Otherwise, the Chiefs might look back and wished they drafted someone else with this year's No. 63 selection.
