7 Most Disappointing Chiefs Despite 5-0 Start

Even though the Kansas City Chiefs are 5-0, the 2024 season has been far from perfect. These seven players have been the most disappointing Chiefs through five games.

5. Justin Watson, WR

The 2023 season was a career year for veteran wideout Justin Watson. The ex-Penn Quaker set new career highs in receptions (27), yards (460), and touchdowns (3) before recording six catches for another 90 yards during Kansas City's postseason run.

But much like others on this list, Watson has taken a step back this season.

The 29-year-old receiver has reverted to his old form to the tune of six catches for 87 yards without a TD in five games. If he continues at his current rate, he's on pace to finish the year with only 296 receiving yards, which would be the worst output of his Chiefs tenure.

Things reached a new low on Monday when Watson failed to receive a single target despite playing 59 offensive snaps (70%). It's a telling sign that the Chiefs simply don't see him playing a significant role in the offense and it's going to take a lot to change that perception.

Watson showed what he's capable of last season, so let's hope that the bye week helps him get back on track.
