Even though the NFL trade deadline came and went, these four Kansas City Chiefs players' futures with the franchise might still be in jeopardy.

2. Wanya Morris, LT

The Chiefs thought they found their starting left tackle for the foreseeable future when they drafted Wanya Morris with the 92nd overall pick in 2023. The former Tennessee/Oklahoma blocker struggled at times as a rookie, though, leading to Kansas City naming rookie Kingsley Suamataia as the No. 1 LT ahead of the 2024 season.

That experiment didn't last long, though. Suamataia struggled in his first two games, forcing the Chiefs to turn back to Morris to provide quarterback Patrick Mahomes with better protection. Unfortunately, the offensive line change hasn't led to the desired results yet.

Morris' performance has been subpar at best thus far. The 24-year-old blocker has allowed 19 pressures while taking six penalties across 475 offensive snaps so far. Pro Football Focus is giving him 58.1 pass block and 54.7 run block grades for his efforts, which rank 60th and 62nd among eligible tackles.

Even though he's still fairly young, the Chiefs can't afford to keep playing Morris if he can't get his act together. Having a reliable LT is extremely crucial to any team's success and as good as the rest of Kansas City's O-line has been, that doesn't make Morris' performance excusable.

If Morris can't find a way to step up, the Chiefs might look to replace him in the offseason.
