4 Chiefs Playing Their Last Regular Season Game at Arrowhead This Weekend
3. Derrick Nnadi, DT
Switching over to the opposite side of the ball, defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi has been one of the Chiefs' most underwhelming interior defenders in 2024.
After being an every-week starter throughout his first seven NFL seasons, Nnadi has been limited to a back-up role in Kansas City this season. Although it can be tough for fans to see a beloved favorite's role diminish, limiting the ex-Florida State product's playing time has been a good decision by the KC coaching staff.
Through 14 games, Nnadi has only mustered up three solo tackles while missing a career-worst 12.1% of his attempts. His overall defense grade on PFF is also a personal-low 35.8, marking the third season in a row that he's generated a mark of 41.4 or worse.
Unsurprisingly, Nnadi's snap count has been erratic all season long and there's a decent chance he's already being phased out of the team's defensive plans. The Chiefs only used the former 2018 third-rounder for six defensive snaps in Week 15's win over the Cleveland Browns, leaving time to tell if he sees a similar number of opportunities against the Texans this weekend.
If he barely sniffs the field again on Saturday, chances are that Nnadi's time in Kansas City is nearing its end.
