The Kansas City Chiefs had a fairly active 2025 offseason adding players at positions of need. Kansas City added cornerback Kristian Fulton, running back Elijah Mitchell, left tackle Jaylen Moore and defensive tackle Jerry Tillery. Furthermore, the Chiefs were able to re-sign veteran running back Kareem Hunt, along with veteran wide receivers Marquise "Hollywood" Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster.
While there are a few key new additions at starting positions, most of the players brought in or brought back are depth pieces. As a result, some Chiefs from last year's roster could be fighting for a roster spot in 2025. With that in mind, here are four Chiefs who are fighting for their jobs in 2025.
1. Skyy Moore - WR
In 2022, the Chiefs selected Skyy Moore with the 54th pick in the NFL draft. Hopes were high after he ran a 4.41-second 40-yard dash at that year's combine. While Moore wasn't as fast as Tyreek Hill coming out of college, Kansas City was hoping he could develop into a replacement for the departed receiver.
Unfortunately, the 24-year-old has not quite panned out as a receiver. In three seasons, he has recorded 43 receptions on 74 targets for 494 yards and one touchdown. While Pro Football Reference only credits Moore for four drops in three seasons, it certainly felt like more.
This may result from the fact that Moore has dropped some critical passes. Nevertheless, Moore's production is not what fans or the organization thought he would provide.
On top of Moore's early career struggles, he spent most of the 2024 season on injured reserve with a core muscle injury. Although he had plenty of chances to come back, the Chiefs chose to keep him inactive during the playoff run. That should tell you all you need to know about more's relationship with the Cheifs.
If that wasn't telling enough, the 24-year-old is likely now considered the wide receiver six behind Nikko Remigio, who also proved himself as the team's punt returner. Moreover, Kansas City may also consider taking another wide receiver in the draft. If that happens, Moore will have even more of an uphill battle to make the roster.
