3. Derrick Nnadi, defensive line

To say that the 2024 season hasn't been a great one for Derrick Nnadi might be a major understatement. When you look at his previous production as well as just the general expectations that come along with that, he's underwhelmed.

Nnadi has been a consistent contributor to the Chiefs' defense for a long time, if only on a part-time basis. He played nearly 500 snaps for Kansas City last season and has done a great job of rotating in on that interior defensive line and being productive. He doesn't rack up a ton of sacks or quarterback hits, but you know what you're getting when Nnadi steps out onto the field in terms of being a strong run defender.

At least, that is what we all thought going into this season.

Nnadi is having one of his worst seasons as a pro and the Chiefs are responding by not giving him a ton of snaps. We recently wrote about Nnadi being one of the most disappointing Chiefs so far this season:

"Nnadi's underlying stats also don't do him any favors. Pro Football Focus is currently giving him a 30.6 grade for overall defense as well as marks of 35.1 and 44.0 for run defense and pass rushing, respectively. He's also missed 33.3% of his tackling attempts, resulting in a tackle grade of 23.4 — the worst performance of his career."

Devon Platana

That doesn't bode well for his overall trade value, but the Chiefs might just want to get other guys more snaps within the defense and Nnadi looks to be one of their most expendable players right now. He's played just 55 snaps in the first five weeks combined.
