NFL training camps are finally underway, and with the football abstinence everybody's been through, it's easy to lose perspective. For better or worse, everything can be turned into a story, and that often leads to hyperbole and overreactions.
Of course, this year isn't the exception to that rule. The Kansas City Chiefs are just getting started, but with so much pressure on their shoulders after a disappointing 2025 season, some might not be eager to give them the benefit of the doubt.
That's why all minor things might look like catastrophes, even when they're not. Sometimes, teams or players need a bit more time to get their legs back under them, or they might just be testing things before actual games. With that in mind, let's debunk three overblown narratives coming out of training camp.

Jaylon Moore "losing" the RT battle
A lot has been said about the Chiefs' right tackle position, and rightfully so. Cutting ties with Jawaan Taylor was necessary and positive, but the fact that they didn't pursue a big name to replace him was somewhat underwhelming.
That's why, as much as some fans may want to make a big fuss out of the fact that UDFA Kahlil Benson is taking first-team reps at right tackle, the fact of the matter is that this team must still trust Moore for those duties.
Moore played extensively last season because of injuries. Granted, he's no Penei Sewell, but he's familiar with the team, the blocking schemes, and the system. Whether he's the right guy for the job remains to be seen, but it's still his spot to lose.
The receiving corps might have more depth than thought
The Chiefs' wide receiver corps has also been a polarizing subject. On the one hand, they have the potential to be great. On the other hand, availability is a major concern, and they have yet to take another leap.
Even so, this situation might not be as bad as it seems. Rashee Rice showed up fully healthy after his bout in jail, Xavier Worthy added that he's finally trending in the right direction after struggling with a shoulder injury, and rookie Cyrus Allen turned some heads before his injury scare.
Tyquan Thornton showed strong chemistry with Patrick Mahomes when given a chance last season, and he can be this team's big-play specialist. The jury is still out, but this might not be the crisis some make it out to be.
Mansoor Delane still has everything in front of him
Last but not least, the Chiefs still haven't been able to take a full glimpse of their prized first-round rookie. LSU's Mansoor Delane is still wearing a yellow non-contact jersey, prompting criticism from the fan base.
That said, going as far as to call the 6th overall pick and best cornerback prospect in this class a bust this early into his career just doesn't make any sense. Week 1 is more than one month away; he doesn't have to be 'the guy' right now.
Is this an ideal start to his career? Of course not. Does that mean he won't be ready for when it counts? Not by any chance. Fans are excited and anxious, and that makes perfect sense, but let's give the kid a chance to prove himself before ruling him out.
