2. Left Tackle is Still a Problem

This game was a major test for Wanya Morris, who needed a strong game to stave off those calling for an upgrade at the trade deadline or via free agency.

It didn't quite go as well. Morris was graded well by Pro Football Focus but seemed to stick out on numerous plays. Patrick Mahomes was under pressure for much of the contest, leading to four sacks. His ankle injury happened outside of the pocket, though he easily could've been hurt on some of the hits he took.

Kingsley Suamataia waits in the wings and briefly came into the game, yet neither player has been particularly impressive thus far in the campaign. Morris has the job. That being said, things could change quickly with 2023 starter Donovan Smith still on the street.

Protecting Mahomes was already of the utmost importance. Watching him writhe on the ground in pain should've clarified that even further. Brett Veach may be forced to make a move if Morris can't hold his ground and Suamataia isn't ready.

The Bucs have a good defensive line but better ones await in the postseason. To keep Mahomes upright and to ensure that this team has the best chance possible to make the Super Bowl, left tackle play simply has to improve.

Morris had a 10% pressure rate since 2023 entering this Sunday and it certainly appeared that there's still work to be done.
