Ranking Kansas City Chiefs realistic draft targets

No. 4: Walker Little, OT (Stanford)

Sam Monson of Pro Football Focus had the Chiefs taking Stanford offensive tackle Walker Little with the No. 31 selection.

While I love the idea of landing Little in the 2021 NFL Draft, I’m not sure he’s worthy of a first-round draft choice. It’s not that Little isn’t talented, but rather the fact that he hasn’t played football in a year and a half.

Little was injured in Stanford’s season opener in 2019 and went on to miss the rest of the season. He then made the decision to opt-out of Stanford’s 2020 season, which leads him to now being two seasons removed from football.

If the Chiefs drafted Little, they’d have to take it easy on him to start. The team would need to have a better option at left tackle for the 2021 season at the very least while making sure that Little could handle the left tackle duties in the future.

Little is ranked fourth on my list of realistic draft targets because I don’t love the idea of taking him in the first round. He’s fallen to the second and even the third round in several mock drafts and he’s definitely someone the Chiefs could trade out of the first round for and land earlier on in the second round.
