Only two games have been played by the KC Royals in the 2021 season, but they are crushing it on offense!

Two games, 25 runs scored for the Kansas City Royals to start the 2021 season.

Of course, the easiest thing to point to is that those 25 runs have come against what’s going to be a pretty terrible Texas Rangers team, but still — It’s hard to deny that the Royals have been wheeling and dealing at the plate early in the season.

Both games have seen the Royals fall into a hole early (5-0 on Thursday and 4-0 on Saturday), but then come back swinging and winning by multiple runs. The Royals won 14-10 on Opening Day and 11-4 on Saturday.

We all figured this offense would be able to do some damage this year because, unlike previous Royals teams, these players can get on base. Carlos Santana is a walking machine, drawing three in his Royals debut while getting another walk on Saturday. Jorge Soler walked twice in Game No. 2 as well.

The slugging might not continue for the KC Royals, but right now, it’s sure fun to watch.

More from Kansas City Royals

Where the Royals are getting really good production is surprisingly at the bottom of their lineup. Michael A. Taylor has been an offensive beast so far, currently batting .556 and 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs in his second game with his new team.

Hanser Alberto also played well, going 3-for-4 with two runs scored and plating an RBI in the process. This is the kind of production the Royals will need from their lineup while Adalberto Mondesi is out and they’re delivering.

Even Nicky Lopez had a hit on Saturday and is batting .375 on the year. It’s still early, of course, but Lopez getting on base is going to boost his confidence tremendously.

The Royals have won their first series of the year and while they did it against a bad team, their offense has shown they can put up runs. If the pitching could perform similar to how they did on Saturday, the Royals could be a sneaky good team.
