KC Chiefs determined to improve defense in 2021 NFL Mock Draft
KC Chiefs Mock Draft 3.0
Round 7: Pick 253 – Camryn Bynum, CB (California)
With their final pick in the 2021 NFL Mock Draft, the Chiefs decide to double up on cornerbacks, adding Camryn Bynum from Cal to their secondary group. The Chiefs took BoPete Keyes in the seventh round of last year’s draft with the expectations of him being a project corner and the same situation would likely occur for Bynum.
The Cal corner totaled at least one interception in each of his four years with the Golden Bears. He played in just four games in 2020, but the PAC-12 didn’t play many games due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Draft Network suggests that Bynum is likely more of an outside corner, which limits what defenses could do with him. The Chiefs wouldn’t make this pick expecting Bynum to start any time soon and maybe he could be looked at as a project as well, giving KC options down the road as far as their cornerback position is concerned.
That concludes my third mock draft of the season! It starts with the Chiefs taking three straight defensive players and then shifting to offense a little more. KC finishes this mock with an EDGE rusher, defensive lineman, linebacker, offensive tackle, wide receiver, center, and two cornerbacks.
I’d have liked for the Chiefs to have drafted a tight end at some point in this mock draft, but there was never one really there for KC to take without having to majorly reach. That’s when trading would be nice because the Chiefs could move back, gain a pick, and then grab the tight end later down the line, but I’m unable to make trades in this simulator.
What do you think of this mock draft, Chiefs fans?
