KC Chiefs news surrounds how the 17th game in 2021 will be played against the Green Bay Packers.

The NFL made the decision to expand the regular-season to 17 games, which will take effect in 2021. Personally, I hate this move because the NFL schedules were perfect before. They played each of their divisional opponents twice and then faced an inter-conference opponent.

With the extra game being added in 2021, that means the Kansas City Chiefs have to play one more game, but who will it come against? According to Albert Breer, the one-game crossover for the Chiefs in 2021 will be against the NFC North and the opponents will be decided based on divisional finish.

So, since the Chiefs finished as the AFC West champions, they’ll square off against the NFC North champion Green Bay Packers. I’m not sure how the one-game crossovers were determined, but a better idea could have been to do it how MLB does, which is to have teams play the same inter-conference opponent every year and base that matchup off of proximity.

This is a very interesting switch for the NFL. Obviously, money talks and that’s why this decision was made, but it’s going to take some getting used to. It’ll make things even tougher for the KC Chiefs, who now have another first-place team on their schedule next season.

Here’s what’s trending in KC Chiefs news.

"The NFC North division title this year has already been clinched by the Green Bay Packers, so that’s who Kansas City will play in 2021."

"2020 is finally over (thankfully) and with that, the year 2021 is ready to show us what it’s got in store. The Kansas City Chiefs had an awesome 2020 and if they want 2021 to be as kind to them as last year was, then these are the resolutions they need to make."

"This week, the new year starts with a bang as five teams find their new franchise quarterback (hint, hint, Pittsburgh Steelers fans), five wide receivers find their way into the first round, and the Green Bay Packers do the unthinkable in Bleacher Report’s latest mock draft."

It’ll be the Kansas City Chiefs vs the Green Bay Packers in the extra game added to the schedule in 2021. It’ll be a fun matchup and will at least give us a chance to see Patrick Mahomes square off against Aaron Rodgers, which is something we were robbed of last year, as the two played when Mahomes was injured.
