The Kansas City Chiefs square off against the Saints this week. Who should fans be keeping an eye on?
At last, we come to the highly-anticipated matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the New Orleans Saints. These two teams entered the season with Super Bowl aspirations and look to be on their way to accomplishing those goals.
Last week, three of the four players I included in my list of players to watch really stepped up (and the fourth was Patrick Mahomes and he was included simply because the Dolphins were a team who could take the football away, which they did), so here’s to hoping for another successful outing in Week 15.
Here are five members of the Chiefs to be watching for as the 12-1 reigning Super Bowl champs take on the 10-3 Saints.
Anthony Hitchens
It’s been a good season for Anthony Hitchens, who is playing his best football since he came to Kansas City in 2018. He’ll be relied upon heavily this weekend as the Saints are very much a run-first offense, especially if Taysom Hill is starting at quarterback.
With the Saints having Hill and Alvin Kamara at their disposal, Hitchens and the rest of the Chiefs linebackers need to bring their A-game on Sunday afternoon in the Big Easy. Hitchens had just two tackles against the Dolphins but had at least six in the previous four games before that. He needs to be able to get after Hill, Kamara, and whoever else the Saints have run the ball on Sunday if the Chiefs want to be able to slow down that offense.
