The KC Chiefs are in a prime position to run it back, but Mike Greenberg says the Chiefs should watch out for Buffalo.

Even though the Kansas City Chiefs currently sit as the No. 2 seed in the AFC playoffs, most still seem convinced that they’re the best team in the conference and the favorites to represent the AFC in Super Bowl LV. While people are rarely going to bet against the Chiefs, Mike Greenberg of ESPN says if any team can knock off the Chiefs, it’s the Buffalo Bills.

Greenberg stated some good points in this segment, noting that teams can’t hope to shut Patrick Mahomes down. Instead, they have to go blow-for-blow with Mahomes and Greenberg says that Josh Allen is capable of doing just that. Allen is third in 20+ yard completions this season (Mahomes is first) and the Bills are No. 1 in success rate on pass plays while the Chiefs are No. 2.

Greenberg also brings up that playing keep away is a good strategy to beat the Chiefs because then Mahomes is hanging out on the sidelines. He mentions that Buffalo has 27 drives that lasted 10 or more minutes, which proves they’re capable of staying on the field for long periods of time and eating up the clock.

KC Chiefs fans don’t want to admit their team is beatable, but any team is beatable.

Truthfully, I’m not as confident as a large majority of Chiefs Kingdom is heading into the postseason. I know the Chiefs are good, but their lack of being able to close out games and the wobbly performance by the defense recently has me a tad bit concerned. Not stepping on opponents’ throats in the playoffs will come back to bite this team, so they need to stop it with conservative play.

Part of why the Chiefs were able to make it to the Super Bowl last season is that they were constantly playing from behind. They didn’t have a lead to cough up as they have in seasons past. Greenberg makes a lot of points in the video linked above and Chiefs fans will immediately counter with “But the Chiefs beat the Bills already!”

Yeah, in Week 6 when Allen was banged up and the Bills were thrown for a loop when their game against the Titans was moved and that threw off the whole schedule. Had this game been played on the Thursday night like it was supposed to, that game is probably much closer. The Bills have figured things out and even if they have to come into Arrowhead this January, they’re not going to be that same team we saw in Week 6.

Mike Greenberg has the correct take here and hopefully, the Kansas City Chiefs don’t sleep on the Buffalo Bills if the two are to face off next month.
