Sammy Watkins

Sammy Watkins returned to action last week in Tampa Bay and hauled in four catches for 38 yards in his first game back since Week 5’s loss to Vegas. It wasn’t a sensational performance, but Watkins playing was a bit surprising considering he had been ruled out a few days before the game.

Watkins is someone I’m intrigued by this weekend because he hasn’t had a 100+ yard game yet this season. The Chiefs’ offense didn’t pick on the Broncos defense a ton in Week 7 (though the score might make one think otherwise) and it’d be nice to see Watkins have a big game against Denver.

Watkins has gone for over 100+ yards against Denver twice in his career, once with the Bills as a rookie and again with the Chiefs in 2018. Could this be Watkins’ first 100+ yard performance of the season?

Chris Jones

It hasn’t been a great few weeks for Chris Jones or the Chiefs pass rush in general. Jones hasn’t gotten a sack since the Week 9 win over Carolina and not only that, he’s been really limited in his past two games since returning from the bye week.

Jones had a sack in the Chiefs’ last game against Denver and also had three total tackles. He’s generally been pretty solid against the Broncos throughout his career and the Chiefs need to see him return to form this weekend.

Any time a team can get solid pressure on the quarterback, their chances of winning improve. If the Chiefs’ pass rush can put things together, this defense could be on the right track again in no time. Jones is a big part of that though. He needs to set the tone this weekend.
