Other Starts and Sits

Start: Marvin Jones, WR, Detroit Lions

If the Lions are going to generate any offense at all, it will be because of Marvin Jones. He will be their top option in the passing game and should see enough targets in PPR formats to be viable and safe.

Sit: Akins and Fells, TE’s, Houston Texans

Both of these tight ends have taken turns being relevant for the Texans, and that is exactly why I am out on playing either of them. Calling your shot and being right feels good, but being wrong can sink your chances around playoff time.

Start: Duke Johnson, RB, Houston Texans

Since taking over as the starter after David Johnson hit IR, Duke Johnson has been a disappointment. He hasn’t hit double digits in either of his last two games, but he also faced tough matchups (New England and Cleveland.) Detroit has been friendly against opposing running backs in fantasy this year, so start Johnson confidently this Thanksgiving and watch him feast. (phew. glad I got another pun in there. I didn’t want to just go stuffing them in randomly.)

Sit: Alex Smith, QB, Washington Football Team

Alex Smith has looked very good since returning from a gruesome injury. I do actually think Smith has a quality game here, but I don’t think he himself scores a lot of touchdowns. He will move the offense and put his team in position to score, but that doesn’t excite me about his fantasy prospects.
