The Kansas City Chiefs appear to be the best team in the AFC, but who are their biggest challengers in the conference?

There’s not much debating that the Kansas City Chiefs are the best team in the AFC and look the most likely to represent the conference in the Super Bowl for the second straight year. But, there’s a reason teams play the games and it’s possible that another team comes in and beats the Chiefs in the playoffs. After all, it is incredibly difficult to make it to back-to-back Super Bowls.

Let’s take a look at the three teams who pose the biggest threat to the Chiefs when it comes to running it back in February.

16. . AFC East. Buffalo Bills. Buffalo Bills. 3. player

Barring a major collapse paired with an incredible finish by the Miami Dolphins, it appears that the Buffalo Bills are going to win their first AFC East title since 1995. While the Chiefs took care of Buffalo with ease back in Week 6, any time a team gets another crack at a team who humiliated them earlier in the season, it’s not bound to be the same result.

The Bills came out of the gates hot to start the year, going 4-0, but then dropping two really ugly games to the Titans and Chiefs. They currently sit at 7-2 and are the No. 3 seed in the playoffs.

This past game saw the Bills look like the same team they were in the first four weeks of the season. When Josh Allen is playing his best football, the Bills are one of the best teams in the entire NFL and could most definitely go toe-to-toe with the defending champion Chiefs.

Kansas City saw a bad effort from Allen and the Bills team as a whole looked sluggish that evening, but to be fair, they had come off a tough week. The week prior, they were game planning for both the Titans and the Chiefs because the schedule was still up in the air.

The Chiefs managed to rush for over 200 yards in the first match-up and it was weird to watch them be in that position for once, rather than being the team to get run all over. If these two teams meet in the playoffs, expect a much more competitive game from the Bills.
