What did we learn about the KC Chiefs?

The Chiefs certainly had the easiest game out of all of the divisional teams this week, as they hosted the winless Jets at Arrowhead Stadium. Even though New York kept things somewhat competitive in the first half, the Chiefs pulled away in the second half and completely crushed the winless Jets.

Patrick Mahomes had his best game of the season and looked like “vintage” Mahomes by throwing for over 400 yards and five touchdowns. The run game didn’t do much, even with it being the Le’Veon Bell revenge game, but the Jets clearly weren’t going to let Bell beat them. Instead, they let the best player in football beat them and that wasn’t very bright on their end, but hey, it’s the Jets.

What we learned about the Chiefs is that they continue to shake things up on a weekly basis in how they beat their opponents. Two weeks ago it was to run the ball down the Bills’ throats, last week it was the defense that took over, and this week Mahomes said “It’s my turn” and torched the Jets all afternoon long.

With the win, the Chiefs move to 7-1 on the year and have one more game before their bye week. Hopefully they don’t overlook this next game and can continue to focus on the end goal, which is running it back and winning a second straight Super Bowl.

Next up: Kansas City welcomes in the 3-5 Panthers for a noon kickoff at Arrowhead.
