The KC Chiefs were one of three teams to win in the AFC West this week.

We had three total games being played in the AFC West in Week 8. The Kansas City Chiefs hosted the winless Jets, the Raiders traveled to Cleveland for a date with the Browns, and the Broncos hosted the Chargers. Three teams emerged victorious after these three games and one saw themselves sink further behind in the division.

Let’s go through all four teams in the AFC West and discuss what we learned about them this week.

What did we learn about the Las Vegas Raiders?

The Raiders faced the Browns in Cleveland in a big game for both teams. Las Vegas was 3-3 prior to this match-up and would fall to under .500 and also three games behind the Chiefs if they were to lose. The Browns on the other hand are in an incredibly tough division and need a miracle to win the AFC North at this point.

The Raiders won a low scoring game in Cleveland, 16-6 to move to 4-3 on the year. Derek Carr didn’t have to do much, completing just 15 passes for 112 yards and a touchdown on a windy day in Cleveland. Josh Jacobs carried the team, rushing for 128 yards on 31 carries. Running the ball was the best strategy for either side because of the windy conditions.

What we learned about the Raiders is that their defense stepped up and looked better this week. They didn’t allow the Browns to have a field day running the ball and kept them out of the end zone all together. The weather conditions made for an interesting day in the Dawg Pound and the Raiders came out with the win.

Next up: The Raiders head to Los Angeles for a date with the 2-5 Chargers in the late window of games.
