The Kansas City Chiefs’ ultimate need is really at the offensive line position.

Making an investment there bodes well for this season down the stretch as well as protecting Mahomes in the years to come. One player that would make a lot of sense for this would be the Falcons’ Chris Lindstrom. The Falcons are a complete mess at this point and would be wise to have a fire sale in order to really begin rebuilding.

They’ll likely want to begin rebuilding with their former first-round pick in Lindstrom. But if the price is right, would the Falcons send even a key building block to Kansas City? It may not be likely, but hopefully, Veach is at least inquiring about the possibility. Another option might be Minnesota’s Pat Elflein.

Elflein is a former third-round pick that hasn’t quite worked out for Minnesota, so maybe he could be had for cheap as the Vikings begin to make roster changes. Getting a chance under Reid and company might be just the opportunity that Elflein needs.

There’s also the chance that the Chiefs could decide to bolster the defensive end position. With a few injuries to that position, some help down the stretch there would strengthen that part of the defense.

As it sits now, the Chiefs still looked primed to make another run at the Super Bowl. Dropping 43 points on the Broncos in Denver, while still looking a bit undisciplined, is really saying something. How much more could an acquisition or two help to propel this team forward?
